Mercy Hospice is a comprehensive program offered by Dignity Health for individuals and families facing serious and life-limiting illness. Mercy Hospice professionals and volunteers offer physical, emotional and spiritual comfort to patients and families.

Our Mission

At Mercy Hospice, we believe in living life as fully as possible, and that includes living well to the end. The mission of our hospice care team is to work with patients and their families to manage pain and symptoms so that their remaining time may be spent in peace, comfort and dignity.

Our History

Mercy Hospice has been providing compassionate care to families throughout the greater Sacramento community since 1979. During that time our team of physicians, staff members and volunteers has grown and the list of services we provide has evolved to best meet the needs of the people we serve.

Mercy Hospice is operated by Dignity Health, a system of 40 hospitals and medical centers with headquarters in San Francisco.

Participation

Mercy Hospice is a Medicare-certified, Joint Commission accredited program. We are also a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO); California Hospice and Palliative Care Association (CHAPCA); the California Association for Health Services at Home (CAHSAH); and the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC). We are a partner in the We Honor Veterans (WHV) program.

Mercy Hospice also contracts with many major private insurance companies that provide a hospice benefit.
