Access 2 Independence is a Center for Independent Living, which is a non-profit, non-residential community-based organization run by and for people with disabilities. Access 2 Independence is a consumer controlled organization and provides direct support services in the four core areas of advocacy, information and referral, peer counseling, and independent skills training. Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to advocate for themselves in order to achieve greater independence and integrated community participation.

Iowa City Hospice’s Mission: Our mission is to be the leaders in providing exceptional patient-centered palliative care and grief support to anyone affected by a terminal illness. Iowa City Hospice’s Principle of Practice: As a community-oriented, not-for-profit organization, Iowa City Hospice is dedicated to offering services to everyone regardless of an individual’s ability to pay.

This national advocacy group sponsors online and in-person support groups for the mentally ill and their families. They can also help with education about diseases and treatments, as well as providing "StigmaBuster" tools.
