The Senior Volunteer and Intergenerational Program can place seniors in the Foster Grandparent, Family Friends, or Senior Companion Programs, one-on-one attention at sites such as schools, early childhood centers, and emergency shelters. Senior Companions help seniors remain in their homes as long as possible by providing loving companionship and assistance. (eligibility varies depending on program)

COA volunteers provide transportation to out-of-county medical appointments. Wheelchair accessible van is available as needed. Call for more information. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Diabetes education is available with a physician referral. Cardiac education includes Heartsafe, on-line heart risk assessment on Lakeland's website, with RN follow up, cholesterol screenings and educational seminars, Eating for a Healthy Heart, Heart Lessons and Change of Heart. Walk in Wednesdays provides cardio vascular screening and bone density testing for a fee. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Fridays.

We provide volunteer opportunities for seniors at various senior centers in our area. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
