Transportation for non-medical reasons

Font size AAA

We are a car-oriented society. Losing the ability to drive has psychological as well as practical consequences. Many seniors become depressed from the isolation they experience when they are unable to get out and participate in meaningful activities. Depression can often lead to other problems such as drinking, falling, or losing one's ability to heal well from illness or injury. The ability to remain engaged with society is a critical factor in the well being of our elders. If the person you care for is unable to drive, it is important to identify alternate means of transportation.
