In-Home Care Providers

Administrator log in "It meant so much to be able to have Mom stay at home. She was surrounded by the things she knew and loved. That gave her a lot of comfort."

If the person you care for would like to stay at home, you can turn to in-home care providers for assistance. These agencies typically have both skilled (registered nurses) and unskilled staff available for hire, depending on the needs of the patient.
Medicare will generally pay for a short-term set of visits by a registered nurse if your doctor has prescribed it. Unless you have long-term care insurance, services such as help with cooking, laundry, and housekeeping must be paid for privately; they are not covered by Medicare.
