About Us: Palliative CareCenter and Hospice
Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley was founded in 1979 by volunteers dedicated to providing end of life care for both patients and families residing in the North Carolina counties of Catawba, Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Iredell, and Lincoln. Today, our team of professionals and volunteers serves more than 300 patients daily.
Our Mission is to provide high quality, compassionate care to all individuals and their families by enhancing living.
A comprehensive program of medical care, counseling, and spiritual support for patients and families is offered regardless of diagnosis, age, gender, nationality, race, faith, sexual preference, disability, or ability to pay. PCHCV is licensed by the state of North Carolina, certified by Medicare and Medicaid, is nationally accredited, and complies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act privacy practices.
Our History
From a handful of volunteers at a meeting in 1979 to a staff of 179 employees in 2008, PCHCV has experienced an amazing three decades of growth. We estimate we will serve our 10,000th patient in 2009.
