About Us: Why Choose Delaware Hospice for Your Family?
Delaware Hospice, founded in 1982, has cared for 36,000 patients and families throughout Delaware. Nearly 400 staff members and 800 volunteers passionately serve the patients and families of Delaware Hospice and successfully fulfill a mission which hasn’t wavered from the original intent to provide the highest quality hospice and health care services and serve as a trusted community partner in end-of-life education and support.
Delaware Hospice is the only not-for-profit hospice in Delaware, and is honored to hold accreditation through the Joint Commission, the nation's leading health care standards-setting and accrediting organization.
Being accountable to the community's needs has resulted in the development of unique programs, including Transitions, non-medical support for seriously ill individuals and their families, and New Hope, support for children and teens who have lost loved ones.
Our expertise in providing quality care and comfort for 29 years and our focus on honoring the patient and family's preferences have been recognized. 99% of Delaware Hospice families would use our services again and recommend us to others.
Our Care Philosophy
Delaware Hospice celebrates life and advocates for peace and tranquility. Once an individual coping with a life-limiting illness moves from finding a cure to seeking comfort, Delaware Hospice provides relief, encouragement and resources.(Return to top)
Our Board of Trustees
The Delaware Hospice Board of Trustees actively participates in establishing and maintaining our organization’s mission and vision. Each of these members demonstrates their support by making recommendations regarding our strategic direction, by providing counsel in legal and financial matters and by participating in fundraising. Their combined efforts help us to ensure all patients and families receive comfort, resources and support when it matters most.(Return to top)
